The percussion band of Tainan University of Technology sound their drums and get the audience fired up ready for the show. There are various interactive activities to make the atmosphere more exciting, such as a ball game, flag waving and Mexican waves.
Fanatic about New Classics (Bobby Chen & The New Formosa Band) (8 people)
The peak of Bobby Chen & The New Formosa Band's stage performance! They will face the audience from around the world on the World Games stage. Bobby Chen will again perform classics from his 'Chen-style Love Songs'. The Taiwanese-dialect assemblage will leave a memorable impression on the audience.

19:29-19:30 Opening Glory of Taiwan, Pride of Kaohsiung. The World Games 2009 Kaohsiung Closing Ceremony begins in the grand fireworks.
40,000 audience in the stadium will all be part of the opening performance when they will light their LED torches, creating a World Games galaxy of lights in the stadium.

19:30-19:41 Entrance of the Armed Forces Orchestra The Three Armed Forces United Orchestra enters the stadium in a grand style, taking the focus of all 40,000 people in the audience as they perform the marches.

19:41-20:10 Athletes/volunteers Parade The sincere and friendly people of Taiwan, the pleasant and passionate citizens of Kaohsiung. Let us welcome friends from all over the world to join us on this blissful occasion.'
Around 1500 athletes from 91 countries will enter the stadium in country alphabetical order with the host country entering last.
With the Closing Ceremony marking the end of a successful and joyous festival, the KOC staff and volunteers who have been working hard on the event for the last few years will then enter the stadium to join in the celebration.

'The International Song'
Bobby Chen and the athletes' explosive and energetic singing will rock the stadium. Laser fireworks will light up the night sky above the stadium. Climatic atmosphere will be reached in the stadium to welcome the Main Show of the Closing Ceremony.

Vital Ocean, Trendy New Metropolis

With the “Concept of Kaohsiung” as the main theme of the performance, the city will be portrayed through digital light projections to highlight the ancient and the contemporary Kaohsiung city.

Together, the mesmerizing special effects, dazzling lighting and magical fireworks will this moment stand still in time. The stadium looks like it's been set in the Brand New World with high technologies. Acrobatic dancing with a steel circle will be the opening performance for tonight's show.

Objects designed with the concepts of light and shadow can be seen in all corners of Kaohsiung. Using the combination of photonics technology and performing art. The dancers' movements in the changing lights will convey the unique urban characters of Kaohsiung and friendly personality of southern Taiwan.

With the lingering melody of the “Flying Whale” suite, the harmonious and classical dance of ballet dancers and the elegant traditional “Water Sleeves” demonstrate the maritime nature of Kaohsiung.

This ecological nature specifically belonging to Taiwan will be portrayed with an alternative interpretation of tap-dancing using hands. The music is based on 'The animal carnival'. The rhythmic skipping notes of the flute will complement the tapping and create a blissful atmosphere.

A musical suite expresses the culture diversity of Taiwan while multimedia displays close up images of the cultural City - Kaohsiung. The movements in the “Dance of Kapok Flowers” truly represent the uniqueness of the Kaohsiung urban life.

Nostalgic Kaohsiung (35 people)
The history of Kaohsiung marks the essence of the city. The Baroque musical style interprets the beauty of Taiwanese folk songs and historical sites of the city. Renowned folk tunes of “Nectarine Flower” and “Black Sky” are presented with multimedia images in the “Dance of the Morning Glory”, as the beauty of traditional and contemporary arts are staged.

The sound of steam whistles and ships are nostalgic memories of Kaohsiung citizens. Hundreds of street dancers and wind drum troupe members representing the once industrial Kaohsiung will present inspiring images of the city through time.

Maritime Carnival (640 people)
The choreography and the spectacular costumes – the carnival will fill the hearts of every spectator with the passion of the World Games. A delightful show of illuminated sea creatures perform in the open stage to deliver the most joyous atmosphere to each person in the audience.

21:05-21:10 The Touching Moment Release of the prayer flying lanterns
Over one hundred of flying lanterns are released into the sky. Athletes have shown their true sportsmen caliber during the World Games. The contest for the titles and medals was one filled with great pride, sportsmen spirit, friendship and joy. These are the underlying essence of the World Games. Hundreds of Taiwanese flying lanterns will be released to mark our best wishes for all the athletes and our people, wishing them wellbeing and fortune.
  The screens will display footages from the events in the last 10 days, then turn into live broadcast. Over one hundred technical flying lanterns with prayers written by a local calligraphy master will be released.
21:10-21:18 Dignitary Address Dignity address form IWGA President - Ron Froehlich and KOC President and Mayor of Kaohsiung - Chu Chen KOC President and Mayor of Kaohsiung - Chu Chen, IWGA President - Ron Froehlich, and Representative of the next World Games host city Cali - Mr. Pascual Grerrero will walk to the speech platform in the centre together Kaohsiung in the Lights and live broadcast  
21:18-21:25 Closing Ceremony - The Handover Ceremony 1. Lowering of the flags: The Olympic flag, IWGA flag, Chinese Taipei flag and Kaohsiung City flag will be lowered together while playing the Chinese Taipei Olympic Anthem.
2.Handover of the IWGA flag: Mayor Chen hands the flag to IWGA President Ron Froehlich, Ron Froehlich then hands the flag to the representative of Cali - Mr. Pascual Grerrero. After receiving the IWGA flag Grerrero will give a short speech (1-2 minutes).
